Atkinson Big Give 2017

The Atkinson Community Foundation Fund (ACFF) is coordinating a weeklong event for 2017 Atkinson Big Give to be held the week after Thanksgiving from Nov. 27 to Dec. 2.
ìWe chose to time our local event with #GivingTuesday which is a global day of giving celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the U.S. and the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving,î said Lisa Bilstein, ACFF advisory committee member.
The Big Give is a local time of giving that encourages all residents as well as fans of Atkinson to come out and contribute financially to one or more of our many charitable organizations.
Giving stations in Atkinson will be set up Monday through Friday at Farmerís State Bank, Great Western Bank and Tri-County Bank. 
A kickoff party will be held at Flat Iron Grill from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 #GivingTuesday. There will be an open house and giving station for all participating charitable organizations in the back room.
  "Flat Iron will be offering food specials and the organizations will be on hand to talk to people about what they do," Bilstein said. "There will be a lot of opportunities for people to give to their favorite charitable organizations this year. We will announce more events in coming weeks as details get finalized.î
Lead sponsors this year are Green Plains Atkinson LLC and Atkinson Chamber of Commerce.
"The Big Give in Atkinson is about creating a culture of philanthropy. This event enables Atkinson to ëgive where you liveí and to participate in philanthropy. Gifts of any amounts are encouraged and appreciated. I am looking forward to the Big Give. Letís make this yearís event the biggest yet,î said Shannon Olberding, ACFF chair.
