Primary Duties:

The Clinic Nurse will provide patient care in the Primary Care Clinic. In this role the nurse works closely with providers and other healthcare professionals to deliver short and long-term care by collecting patient information, supporting patient evaluation, administering treatments, and educating patients.


Direct Patient Care Duties:

- Listen to patient's health concerns and observe changes in their health
- Respond to changing patient circumstances, rapidly asses situations and make critical decisions about patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients and provide vital information to providers
- Assess data regarding the patient's physical, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual needs based upon the patient's age and development, for patients of all ages
- Report and document all observed symptoms, reactions and changes in the patient's health condition to the provider
- Utilize the nursing process to direct and deliver patient care by developing, implementing, revising and evaluating a patient plan of care
- Creates and maintains a comfortable and safe environment for patients, families and visitors
- Demonstrates competency annually in assigned areas of work including but not limited to: - Conducting patient intake, performing direct patient care, assisting in Provider directed procedures and testing and performing patient follow-up

Non-Direct Patient Care Duties:

- Be a clinical liaison to departments outside of the Primary Care Clinic as well as outside of WHMS. These may include nursing homes, funeral homes, other hospitals, assisted living and other primary and specialty clinics. This may require meetings, phone calls, or teleconferences to ensure key stakeholder relationships are maintained and any issues/concerns are addressed
- Become proficient in the EMR and all modules that apply to daily patient care including: clinic module, registration, scheduler, Dr. First, E-Prescribe
-Handle patient complaints or elevate them to the Charge Nurse or Director in a timely manner
-Other duties as assigned

Skills:

Education & Experience Requirements:

- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Must possess and maintain an active license to practice in the state of Nebraska
- Must have current CPR certification
- Experience in operating computer systems including Microsoft Word, Office, Outlook
- Experience with Healthland Centriq EMR system is desirable
- Prior Primary Care experience is preferred

This position is a full-time, 36-40 hours per week. Clinic office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM.
