Primary Duties:

The Resource Nurse's main role is to coordinate patient care in the primary care and specialty care clinics. This position will work closely with the providers, nursing staff, ancillary departments and the patient to complete the following:

- Prior authorizations with ancillary departments for all medical, surgical, radiological and cardiac tests and procedures.
- Prior authorizations and communication with patients and their pharmacy for medications.
- Maintain and update Patient Health Maintenance tasks.
- Prepare for scheduled visits, wellness exams, Pre Op History/Physicals/Testing.
- Prepare for and complete data entry post visit for CDL/DOT Physicals, Handicap Permits, Disability Visit.

The Resource Nurse will also support the Primary Clinic floor staff by providing patient care when needed due to overflow.

The Resource Nurse must be willing to obtain additional education and training as deemed necessary for growth of the role and the department.


Education & Experience Requirements:

- Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with 3(+) years of experience in patient care.
- Knowledge in utilization and case management as well as prior authorization preferred.
- Must possess and maintain an active license to practice in the state of Nebraska.
- Must have current CPR certification.
- Experience in operating computer systems including Microsoft Word, Office, Outlook.
- Strong telephone communication and service oriented skills.
- Experience with Healthland Centriq EMR system is desirable.

This position is a full-time, 36-40 hours per week. Clinic office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM.
